Studio Update April 2022

A lovely client got in touch a while ago to ask if I could recreate her bouquet and preserve it in a large scale cast to sit prize of place in a kitchen renovation she was in the middle of. Fast forward a year and a build filled with Covid related set backs, my lovely client was ready to press go with her commission request and I could get to work. I ordered in extra long stemmed flowers that matched those she had in her wedding bouquet (roses, eustoma, brunie, ivy berries, anemones and eucalyptus) from Narcissus in Edinburgh and got to work rolling out the largest slab of clay I have ever rolled! I rolled the flowers into the whole 80x80cm panel and then divided it into four sections for casting so the final artwork is like a botanical window. I am delighted with how this has turned out and can’t wait to see it in situ with my lovely client. It will need a few months to dry out before it is ready to hang so it is carefully stored in my studio until then.
