Studio Update February 2022

Our woodland is brimming with spring flowers, which are some of my favourite to cast. Daffodils, hellebores, queen Anne’s lace carpet the ground and I used a selection of these beautiful blooms to attempt my biggest cast to date. A 80x40cm panel inspired by Classical Greek friezes which wrapped around the Parthenon. My ambition is to cast a series of these large scale panels over this year to represent the seasons in the garden which I want to exhibit together next year. Casting on this large scale was a serious challenge and took all my technical expertise and a bit of luck to get the plaster out in one piece. And I am totally delighted with the result - bring on the next seasonal panel!
